The Sleep Research Institute was born more than three decades ago with a clear idea: sleep is a vital function that deservesspecialised, rigorous medicine dedicated solely to sleep. Since then we have dedicated ourselves solely to diagnosing and treating sleep disorders — and that makes the difference.
Under the direction ofDr. Diego García-Borreguero, internationally recognised specialist, we have built a teammultidisciplinary(neurology, pulmonology, psychology and dental sleep medicine), its own sleep laboratory and a clinical research programmewhich places us among Europe’s leading centres.
We serve at our headquarters in Madrid and in international clinics, combining close patient care with the highest scientific standards.

The IIS is accredited by theSpanish Sleep Medicine Accreditation Committee with the category ofMultidisciplinary Center, the highest recognition level.
We have the endorsement of the main scientific societies —Spanish Sleep Society, Neurology, Pulmonology, Pediatrics, Otorhinolaryngology and Psychiatry. Its director, Dr. Diego García-Borreguero, is accredited by theEuropean Sleep Research Society (ESRS) and by the American Board of Sleep Medicine, and chairs the ESRS Clinical Guidelines Committee.
